Steve Tomlinson is a senior urban designer on the Lower Lea Valley and Olympic Legacy team at Design for London, the Mayor of London’s urban design unit. He is responsible for developing and delivering a range of master plan, infrastructure and landscape projects in the Lower Lea Valley, the area of London which contains the site for the 2012 Olympics. He has worked on public realm and transport projects in London such as the redesign of Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square. In 2007, he formed part of a team advising the City of Copenhagen on a design strategy for the city center. Tomlinson has a degree in Civil engineering and Architecture from the University of Leeds and has a Master’s in Urban Design from Westminster University where he is now teaching master planning.
