Craig Robins, CEO and President of the Dacra Companies, and co-founder of Art Basel Miami, is leading the transformation of the Miami Design District. Dennis Scholl, Vice-President/Arts for the Knight Foundation, oversees the foundation’s national Arts Program. The Knight Foundation’s 2010 study of 26 cities “Soul of the Community”, found that three qualities attach and attract people to place: social offerings such as entertainment venues, openness and a welcoming ambience, and the physical beauty of urban and green spaces. Robins and Scholl will be asked to describe the role of the arts in their experience in community building and economic development.
