Lecturer(s): Jim Adamson
Jim Adamson is a partner in the design/build firm Jersey Devil, known for its commitment to craftsmanship and sustainable architecture. It is an itinerant group of designers, artists, and craftsmen who move into a site and build their designs and allow those designs to evolve during construction. JIm will share his experience conducting locally appropriate and sustainable design/build programs from Africa to India to Mexico and beyond. Jim is a Visiting Critic at the School of Architecture this fall; teaching a Design/Build Studio for a structure at the south end of Crandon Park, Key Biscayne. The Jersey Devils’ fun and funky architecture is usually called “alternative,” but it is both practical and highly principled.
