Publications
The School of Architecture is proud of its published work — both its annual newsletters and the books and journals of the faculty.
The newsletter is a 16-page compilation of recent news about the School, including items on the faculty, students, alumni, staff and contributors. A four-page center fold usually highlights one of the School’s special programs such as Travel Abroad or Community Outreach. This center piece can then be printed separately to be included in our student recruitment materials. The annual mailing of the newsletter goes to over 7,000 alumni, donors and friends of the School.
The publishing of books and journals by the faculty is a regular occurrence and enhances the reputation of the School’s scholastic standing. These works comprise a wide variety of subjects on architecture, urban planning, and community building – both in the United States and in other parts of the world. The most recent contribution to our shelf of books is the publication Monterrey: Redefining the Urban Center by Professor Carie Penabad and Visiting Professor Javier Cenicacelaya. The book is a case study that analyzes and proposes possible solutions for the revitalization of the historic city center of Monterrey, Mexico. A School of Architecture studio was involved in the documentation of the location and contributed to the design of the new master plan.
Of the books that we have produced 20 are shown here and are available for sale through the School’s Accounting Department.
