Paul Buisson Architecture Library
About
The Paul Buisson Reference Library is a branch of the University of Miami Libraries. Our primary goal is to support the scholarly research, learning, and teaching needs of The School of Architecture faculty, students, and alumni.
The Architecture Library houses over 10,000 books, dvds, and microform materials, and more than 40 current architecture related journals. In addition, library patrons may search the University of Miami Libraries catalog to access the Otto G. Richter, Marine Science, Music, Architecture, and Business Libraries which altogether host a comprehensive collection of information resources represented by more than 3 million volumes, over 74,000 electronic and print serials, over 300 electronic databases, approximately 254,000 electronic books, and 3.9 million items in microforms. Students and faculty also have access to a growing number of digital image services and collections through the UM Library system.
The Paul Buisson Reference Library is also home to the Archive of The New Urbanism, an expanding collection of materials relating to New Urbanist theory, writing, and design that form the core of the School of Architecture’s philosophy. The architecture library’s collections are also strong in the areas of Classical, Latin American, Florida, Tropical Architecture, and Historic Preservation.
The Architecture Library collection has grown through school, faculty, student and alumni contributions. The Paul Buisson Architecture Library collections are further enhanced through the generous support of The Henry A. Colina Endowment Fund for the acquisition of architecture research, teaching and learning materials.
