SOA Student Team Places in AIAS Crisis-Ready Stadium Competition at National Conference
December 27th, 2011 — A School of Architecture student team placed in the AIAS “Crisis-Ready Stadium” competition at the AIAS national Forum in Phoenix in December. The team of Taylor Shumate and Byram Wadia won one of three Honorable Mention awards for their entry “Hurricane Stadium.” The entry was on display at Forum over the New Year holiday. In addition, it will be published in CRIT (journal of the AIAS) and will also be on display at the AIA 2012 Convention in Washington, DC later this year. Faculty Jorge Trelles and Ricardo Lopez, who coordinated the School’s “New Orange Bowl “ Fall Studio, encouraged five student teams to submit their projects to the AIAS competition.
