Faculty partners and artists publish two more volumes to ‘R & R Studios Incomplete Works’

April 1st, 2014 — Partners in the firm of R & R Studios, Associate Professor in Practice Roberto Behar and Adjunct Faculty Rosario Marquardt are known worldwide for their museum and public art installations including the gigantic red “M” in Downtown Miami. That was the first volume in their series R & R Studios Incomplete Works. They now have added a second and third volume including The Living Room and Museum Works.

The Living Room, the world acclaimed public art project by Behar and Marquardt, is the subject of this second volume of R & R Studios Incomplete Works. This publication documents the project from its genesis to the completed construction. The Living Room is recounted by its authors and is illustrated through conceptual sketches, models and photographs. Described as utopian vision, imaginary solution and built dream, The Living Room is a visionary experiment that best explains R & R Studios critical effort to bring emotion into the public realm and their unique approach to bridge art, architecture and the city.

Museum Works is the third volume of Incomplete Works. Works selected for this volume belong to the museum and the city. Models, installations and architectural projects in the book are all part of a web of interconnected ideas that embody preferences and interests of the authors. Included in this edition are installations by Behar and Marquardt at the Miami Art Museum (now PAMM); the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver; the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art; and a project addition for the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale.
